Of course we think it is very important that our dogs receive good nutrition, especially because a lot is required of them in the field of sports. We have been looking for the right food for many years, and then preferably a food where they all do well and we have succeeded, for over 5 years we have been feeding the dogs twice a day to our full satisfaction.
We combine fresh meat from Kivo in various flavors with Kivo dry food, the cold-pressed chunk and then the chicken and rice variant. This chunk has the same digestion process, which is better for the entire gastrointestinal system. An extruded chunk, as it were, swells up in the stomach and a cold-pressed chunk and fresh meat disintegrate in the stomach. No long-term heating and high pressure have been used in the production process of this lump. As a result, all amino acids, fatty acids, meat proteins, oils, vitamins and minerals remain undamaged and therefore perfectly available for the dog.
The kibble is weighed separately for each dog so that the dog gets exactly the right amount of food. The dogs receive fresh meat from Kivo Petfood in different flavors.
Fresh meat naturally contains a lot of nutrients, namely: fats, proteins, vitamins A, B1, B3, B6, B12 and Vitamin D. The minerals iron, zinc, potassium, calcium, magnesium and manganese are also found in meat. This way your dog will never be short and will receive all the nutrients.
We feed our dogs with a relatively large amount of moisture. The meat is combined with (lukewarm) warm water. We add the water for an optimal moisture balance in the dogs' body. For an average dog, a water bowl is sufficient, but then the dogs only drink when they are thirsty. Certainly if you do (exercise) more with your dog, enough moisture in the body is very important. We as humans know when we are going to exercise and then take into account that we will drink extra, but the dogs do not know that. In addition, the body must also learn to absorb enough moisture for a correct moisture balance. The dog is a creature of habit. That is why we give the dogs enough moisture in both summer and winter.
The meals we provide are made up of the correct prey ratios, this ensures that our dogs receive a complete diet every day. Still, additional supplements are always good to take the diet a step higher. In this way you can also compile a menu according to the needs of each dog, every dog is different. We provide Palamountains supplements that contain active ingredients based on an omega 3 and 6 fatty acid base. So not in pill or powder form. This makes the recording many times higher. Feeding the tasty supplements is a great way to maintain the immune system and make the overall health excellent. There are also supplements for dogs with low immunity, tartar, joint problems, mild kidney or liver problems, skin problems, worms or a dull coat.
So in short ... In the morning: The well-known bucket holds about 5 liters of water, 2 to 5 rolls of Kivo fresh meat (in winter they get more than in summer) and a dash of palamountains exceed, this brew is their chunks (for each dog, of course, weighed separately). In addition, for the dogs at age separately, a drizzle of palamountains Bone & Joint is added in their bowl. And about once a week they get another raw egg, they love it.
In the afternoon they all get their own amount of kibble.
The dog belongs to the carnivores. The intestinal system of the dog is still the same as that of the wolf in the past, namely very short. In a perfect diet that can be traced back to the existence of the wolf, we see that the wolf did not eat the same animal as prey every day. Because we want to go back to the needs of the dog as well as possible, it is important that we alternate between animal species. Each animal species contains different amino acids, nutrients and fatty acids.
Before going to sleep: Every night before going to sleep our dogs get a “snack” consisting of a bite, swallow, road snack, usually a biscuit, dried chicken fillet or a meat strip and something that they really have to chew, which can be a piece of beef head skin a pig's ear a beef bone, whether or not filled with something, a tripe stick, etc. etc. But also a nice bone from the butcher or a fresh chicken neck is regularly on the menu.
We try to do it as varied as possible in any case.
Chewing is a healthy and stimulating activity for your dog.
In the past, snacks were daily fare for the dog (bones, skin, ears, etc.). Chewing releases the neurotransmitter endorphins, which makes your dog feel comfortable.
Chewing a snack cleans and strengthens the teeth, by scraping along the teeth and extra absorption of calcium. This prevents the build-up of tartar, which occurs when plaque remains on the teeth for too long. Tartar can eventually lead to gingivitis and loss of teeth.
For an average dog, a water bowl is sufficient, but then the dogs only drink when they are thirsty. Certainly if you do more with your dog (move) then enough moisture in the body is very important. We as humans know when we are going to exercise and take into account that we will drink extra, but the dogs do not know that.
